That definitely sounded like Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin cackle as well, and I've heard rumors that Tobey Maguire will be reprising his role. I'm hoping this will be a full-on live-action Spider-Verse film with Miles Morales and Miguel O'Hara, Bryce Dallas Howard as Spider-Woman, and a gag encounter with Kirsten Dunst MJ and Zendaya MJ.

Actually what I really want to know is what they're going to do with J.K. Simmons, who has canonically played two distinctly different versions of the same character in both "dimensions". I hope they don't leave that fact unremarked upon.

It absolutely was. I'm beyond hyped for this. If the rumors are true and we get Tobey and perhaps Andrew as well... This movie is going to be wild.

I'd be a little upset that Doctor Strange never learned that "magically solving problems can have consequences," but I guess he hasn't learned that at this point, so why start now?

I think the trailer had to cut context. Considering the events of Loki, I think this is less crazy for Strange. The multiverse was constricted/not allowed to branch, so that spell never worked in...

I think the trailer had to cut context. Considering the events of Loki, I think this is less crazy for Strange. The multiverse was constricted/not allowed to branch, so that spell never worked in the past. I'd guess he wants to spook Peter, with the plan that it'll fizzle out and Strange can teach Peter a lesson. But because of Loki, it actually works and the multiverse opens up.

I went against my own no-trailers rule and watched this. I love it. My only concern is that Dr. Strange will probably eclipse Spider-Teen. I love the Spider, but come on! Multiverse Wizard vs Kid...

Doctor Strange works way better IMO as a support in that he always has a way to solve a problem that involves magic, so you run into a bit of a Goku problem where he needs more power, or has to deal with an alternative conflict, either internal or a disagreement with someone he can't just magic away. Doc tells Spidey upfront that "you are living two lives and I can't help you unless you give up one of them," so he can't just make a better spell to fix his issues.

If you are worried about Strange overshadowing Spidey, then I think that Sony and Disney probably had this conversation and have come up with an amicable solution.

The solution is similar to how they deal with Goku and Superman: for a cosmic level character, a cosmic level enemy. Or kryptonite, which is kinda lame. Strange works fine by himself. But I wasn't...

But I wasn't even talking about power level specifically, but rather coolness factor. Dr. Strange is the epitome of interesting to me. Spidey, not as much.
