Then I may start doing some rally prep for my car, have a race in a few weeks.

I'll be going to the junkyard to get some fenders for my brother's rally car.

Probably going to work on my brother's rally car mostly, swapping an engine, transmission, driveshaft, and differential. All of those will go in easy on Saturday/Sunday, but the wiring will take a month or two.

I'd probably use one of the existing blog generators, unless you really want to use it as a project to teach yourself a new language or something. There are so many capable ones already that you'd just end up duplicating a lot of work other people have already done instead of spending time on the writing that you actually wanted to do.

I use Pelican for the Tildes static sites (Blog and Docs). It's worked well for me, but I'm not trying to do anything very complex with it. Since it's Python and Jinja templates that's the same tech as the site itself uses, so that's nice.

I have just become an American citizen today! 4 years of really frustrating bureaucracy came to an end, and just in time for my newborn in a few months. My colleagues draped my desk with a massive American flag, had a MAGA hat on my monitor and a concealed permit application form on my desk.
Going to celebrate this weekend by mowing my lawn, BBQing and having a long game of Battlestar Galactica with beers and friends.

My little brother (who's nearly a decade younger than me) is about to graduate high school, he just had his last exam today. So I'm planning to go see what's probably his last home game on the local soccer team on Sunday. He'll be moving away somewhere (destination as yet uncertain) to study this fall.

Also, I just got started reading War and Peace. Ask me how that's going in a couple of months, haha.

Tonight, though, I plan to get moderately drunk and just chill, listen to music, whatever. Probably can't be bothered to actually go anywhere, although we'll see whether I feel like hitting the hay or hitting the bar once my beer runs out.

Two bachelor parties! Both of the grooms are buddies of mine from college. Should be a great time. The first one, we are getting measured for our rental suits then going out to a brewery tour. We are also going to an Indians game, but I can't go. I have to bail a little early so that I can make it to the other party that same day. The second one we rented a cabin in Hocking Hills. There will be lots of booze and board games, so I'm pretty stoked :)

Hello, fellow Ohioan. I'll be doing the Rib Burn Off at Tri-C in Parma either Saturday or Sunday, depending on which the family decides is better. I've learned not to rock the boat and just go along. Shame the Indians aren't playing very well, but I miss the days of having season tickets and every game being a sellout.

As usual, as I always post in this thread, I will be filming local sports. Namely BMX freestyle. Since I always end up posting this I might as well ask, is there anything you all would like to see? Anything yall would like to know about this stuff? Sometimes I skate or surf as well. Depends on the conditions and my body.

There are a very select few bike only facilities. Some places, such as the Vans parks in SoCal, have bike days or bike hours. And a lot of places around the world tend to have a 'turn the other cheek' philosophy where as long as people are safely using the facility on whatever board, bike, scooter, roller blade whatever it's fine.

Being in Los Angeles there are a TON of skateboarders and even though there are also a ton of bikers the relationship is always hit or miss. Luckily for me, I just dislike people/crowds/lines in general so I only go places really early so I'm usually alone or practically alone. Pro tip, douchebags like to sleep in :D lol

To add to this, bike parks and skate parks are indeed designed differently. Bike parks are on average twice the size of skateparks, for various reasons that are mostly obvious. Also bike parks include much more ramps and transitions on average. Whereas some skateparks don't include a single "ramp" and consisnt solely of rails, ledges, and stairs. That said, really talented riders can definitely make use of the opposite discipline's facilities. There are great "street" bike riders and there are great "transition" skateboarders.

That and evening walks after a grueling week at work.

Moving across the United States. I've been quiet here for a bit because we just spent the last two days packing, loading the truck, and doing final real estate and house stuff. We are now heading to the quietest bar we can find in South Florida to unwind before the next leg of the journey.

Northwestern Michigan. The Third Coast is the best coast - South Florida is not agreeing with us. We've endured twelve years of crowding, pollution, frightening weather, evil traffic, high living costs, lack of the outdoor and cultural activities we enjoy. Spouse works remotely, and I threw in the towel on a job that was burning me extra crispy.

My former work involved 4-season travel around the U.S., and Kansas or Minnesota in January kept the memory of winter alive. By contrast, Houston or Miami, or Los Angeles are far less livable, and Phoenix in August is a preview of Hades.

I've been in Portland during January and February; it rarely freezes, but the dark and damp winters were a trial.

I'm also going to start on my Mari Kondo journey and start tidying and cleaning up. I need to start that so when my SO and I move in, it'll be easier to pack up and have less clutter around! I am also going to sleep in a bit and bake donuts.

It was a beautiful wedding. Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, CO. We stayed in Winter Park and loved exploring there. I can give you more detail about our trip if you’d like - it was Winter Park -> Boulder -> Denver. I live in the Appalachians though and would say we have more tree-covered mountain landscape than Colorado. Just depends on what exactly you’re looking for.

I'm finally getting around to fixing my E46 M3 after putting it on jack stands over a year ago and not touching it since. I was finally able to find some time last weekend to track down a clunk in the front suspension to a ball joint on the lower control arm. Unfortunately, ball joints aren't replaceable on the M3 - you have the replace the entire LCA.

I ordered a pair (the car has 95k miles, they're both pretty worn), and they arrived yesterday. I've already pulled the old ones off, and will be putting the new ones on tomorrow. Looking forward to driving the car again!
