Shitty so far. I got PMed by someone telling me "I hope you DO commit suicide" and promptly posted about it on reddit for karma, which was amusing, but I have not been sleeping right and, thanks to my grandmother being even more shitty and difficult and deaf than the usual, the shouting has been unreal lately.

I'm not even her caretaker, not anymore, but just hearing the racket that her children have been making trying to feed her has been stressful.

Also, my browser updated this morning and one of the main extensions I use stopped working.

I got distracted, too, and instead of working on my map generator I have spent the afternoon messing around with Indental, trying to write an Emacs mode for the aforementioned Indental - how do I make it indent things right? what does it even mean to indent things right? why are we here? what's the meaning of life? - and thinking about completely overhauling how I manage information.

I hope that Saturday will be better.

No, it was Palemoon, and the extension that broke down was Pentadactyl - I more-or-less stopped using Firefox when Quantum was rolled out, both because of the move away from XUL and because it became much more resource-hungry and I'm still using a mid-range laptop from 2011.

Aside from that, sorry that someone was ugly to you on Reddit and I hope things with your grandmother improve.

Ah, don't worry about the former, I actually find it pretty funny, but as for the latter - it won't. She has been getting steadily worse for years, and she has never been easy to deal with.

As far as your map generator, you should totally post a topic about it when you feel like it's ready. The comments you made in the creative thread were interesting and I'd like to see more of the project.

It might take a while - procedural generation is one of those things that I tend to touch on briefly to circle around it for a few weeks to months - but I'll keep that in mind, even if any write-up of mine is probably going to be inferior to what's already around (and if this interests you, you should definitely check out /r/ProceduralGeneration and Blob in Games).

This weekend I'm hoping to take the doors off and finish removing the glass from the body (already have the windshield and rear glass out). I'd love to start taking the interior out as well.

Some glass is easier to get out than others, some is glued in and some are "roped" in. My front/rear glass was roped in, essentially it has a single gasket that holds it in place. There was some glue to hold the gasket as well. I just cut the top part of the gasket off, then ripped the rest of the top side of the gasket off. This pretty much made it so I could lift the glass right off the car (with a little prying).

There is rear corner glass I'm not sure how that comes out yet, as it's the pop out type of window. The door glass will need some figuring out but should come right out.

Interior is gonna be an interesting one haha. Most of it is going to come through the windshield area. It's probably not too bad, cause there isn't a lot of plastic, and I'm not planning on keeping the carpet or anything. It'll take me a few hours I'd guess, it's going to be stripped completely to the bare metal.

You got a 928! Those are awesome. My brother has a nice clean 80k mile 924.

Pretty quiet weekend. Going on a super lame and campy ghost tour in my city which is going to be hilarious and great. Other than that? My partner had a hell of a week at work and I've had to pick up a lot of extra work around the apartment + a long work week, so we're planning a pretty chill weekend. You may recognize me as "guy who had an existential crisis, posted about it on tildes, and then never responded to anyone", which the reason I didn't is that I haven't had time to sit down and do it (see my last sentence about how crazy my week has been). Hoping to sit down this weekend and read and reply to everyone, as well as read the books I checked out from the library on Buddhism.

Got an exam on Sunday. On 10 AM. It is ALES, a dumb unnecessary piece of shit that I need for my master's applications. They always put this stuff on Sunday morning. Why not have it afternoon when everybody is awake? They should at least concede us that. But no, they won't. Sadistic fucks.

My sleep is all over the place. I went to sleep after sunrise for a few days consequently, so to fix that I stayed until 10AM yesterday. The plan was that I would sleep a few hours and go back to sleep around midnight. But I was too stressed out to be able to do that, so ended up sleeping around 5AM and woke up again just an hour and a bit later. Now my head feels like sponge. Will probably need a nap in a few hours, and to quit coffee and tea for a week maybe. And I will probably receive a response about the fate of my current application this week, which is the main source of my stress.

Tomorrow, after the exam, probably gonna hang out with my cousin, so that is something good at least, in this stressful, sleep deprived weekend.

I am a night owl, but sometimes I end up going into a vicious cycle of extremes, and it takes some effort to recover. Looks like it's gonna be good for a while from today and on I hope.

Spending the weekend with my parents. Brought laptop and accessories and set up a workplace on a desk so I can do things I like but with more than 0 people around to talk to.

I'm working on 3D renders for a company I intern at and also doing a little work on sorting out drive space and finally setting up a pass manager. Over the past few months I've forgotten at least two passwords a week, and I'm pretty fed up with that.

Other than that, listening music and trying to figure out arduino for a micocontroller class I've got this semester. Might also spend a little time doing 3D modeling for fun, or drawing a bit. I feel like making things lately.

Today was a good day. I went out for lunch with a friend and we had Ethiopian food for the first time (delicious!), then hit up a big garden centre. I didn't buy anything there, but once home I went for a walk to return a book to the library, then stopped at a nearby store to get a bag of soil and some pretty begonias. I have to work a bit over the weekend, but I'll have time tomorrow to transplant the potatoes I started indoors to their grow bags out on the deck. It's been a very cold, wet, dull spring, but I think we've finally turned the corner.

Yeah, I liked it! We got the vegetarian platter, but another time I might try a lamb dish or something. I've heard people complain about the sourness of injera but I didn't find it that way at all. Very, very filling, though, and I think my scooping technique could use some refinement.

I've finally finished upgrading my old desktop PC. That's a bit of a mischaracterization, actually, since I replaced everything except the storage and GPU because of a combination of a proprietary HP power supply/mobo combo and a very strange Intel CPU that uses a socket that they only used with a single even worse CPU. I hooked the new system up to the TV for some glorious low-frame-rate 3.5K gaming.

Of course, since the GPU still isn't that great, I'll be playing 15-20 year old games, but I'm fine with that. Xanadu Next looks amazing on a giant nearly 4K display.

Today I'm starting work on an English essay, my last piece of coursework for the year. Not sure how well it will go, to be honest, but I only need to pass the module and I'm not too concerned about getting a superb grade (I'm a CS student, not an English student).

Late to the party. Wasn't on Tildes at all last weekend. But then again I'm in Taiwan and the weekends don't always match.
On Saturday I had to judge an English competition. My group of judges was in charge of the reading section for grades 3 and 4. Later that evening I attended a friend's concert. It was some of the most gloriously bad music I've ever heard.
On Sunday we rode bikes around the city where we live. We had lunch in a local restaurant. I believe I ate fried chicken with rice. Later that evening I went running.
