It is much better than their last album! I really liked the production of the songs. My favourite one is definitely Uncomfortably Numb.

(Also: if you're interested in music suggestions you probably know and didn't ask for, American Football just released a new emo album, and I recently was reminded how many albums and how good The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die and The Hotelier are.

In my opinion "You're not as ____ as you think" is as good as the other albums they have, No Halo alone would be enough for me to think the album is awesome, it's so incredibly good! Oh man, I could listen to No Halo like 500 times and I would still love it! (But I won't, don't want to risk ruining it for myself haha)

I didn't listen to American Football yet, so I have to check them out. I love both TWIABP and The Hotelier already! Such awesome bands.

Awesome to know that someone with similar taste in music as me is here :).

Edit: Also, do you know what's the situation exactly with Sorority Noise? On Wikipedia I've read that they were part of some controversy, but also that it has been resolved. Is there a chance they will ever put out more music? Is it similar to Modern Baseballs situation? (minus the controversy)

I was pretty shocked to see another indie/emo fan on here too! It is definitely a welcome surprise. I do not really know what is going on with them other than they are on a hiatus. I did a quick google search and found this article and this article that seem to imply there is at least some truth to the allegations. My interpretation of the statements is that there was a sexual assault based on miscommunication and there was no intent. That doesn't magically make the trauma for the woman go away nor am I saying that the lack of intent makes it OK, but it does seem like its an ongoing situation where both parties are at least civil and both working to repair the damage done as best as possible. Certainly disappointing to find out, but I hope the best for the evolving situation between the woman and Cameron.

I was turned on by a friend to the latest album by Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard and I was mostly sold just on the name, but their music is some pretty good drone/psych/stoner metal/sludge. Well worth a listen if you like that kind of thing and even if you don't.

Also Cosi Fanni Tutti's newest work, TUTTI which is superb. Sometimes straight up drone noise, sometimes industrial, sometimes chilled out and ambient - she's still got that creative spark she always had. Really great stuff.

I don't usually enable youtube's autoplay, but I left it on last week in a wonderful mistake and found a wealth of great shit I'd never have found otherwise. I don't remember what I started with, but autoplay took me through funk, through psychedelia, through afrobeat, lo-fi, dream pop, experimental rock, and more.

Here are a few™ of my favorites, that I keep coming back to, out of the hundred or so bookmarks I've added to my favorites:

    A Beacon School — It's Late
The Claypool Lennon Delirium — Blood and Rockets- Movement I, Saga of Jack Parsons & Movement II, Too the Moon
    Cymande
Fake Laugh — Better For Me
Feng Suave — Sink into the Floor
    French 79 — After Party
    Great Gable — Drift
    Hawai — I'm Still Here
    Khruangbin — August 10
    Khruangbin — The Number 4
    KOKOROKO — Abusey Junction
    Koresma — Bridges
    The Marías — I Don't Know You
    Mild Orange — Mysight
    Naxatras — Waves
    Savages — You're My Chocolate
    Skinshape — I Didn't Know
    Still Corners — Black Lagoon
    Still Corners — The Message
    Still Corners — Midnight Drive
    Still Corners — Strange Pleasures
    Unknown Mortal Orchestra — Hunnybee
Vashti Bunyan — If I Were & Same But Different

I imagine a number of these would really hit the spot for THC enthusiasts; some old roommates of mine are pretty stoked to hear about a few of these artists.

I’ve been listening to The Fall Of Troy quite a bit lately. I am always cautious to recommend this band because the reaction people have to hearing their music can be mostly negative. Personally I really enjoy what they do/did. Their more famous stuff is nearly instantly recognizable (FCPREMIX from the Doppleganger album).

My personal favorites of theirs are Panic Attack and Ex-Creations. If you are into heavy rock and hardcore this might be more for you but I know some jazz guys who jam this stuff. It’s just good music.

(There was another version of it I heard. I found it in a random search on a social network, and it was labeled as being from the DOOM beta. I like it better. Can't find it anywhere else: most versions, aside from the OST one, have a shitty drop after the main pick-up that doesn't resemble the legendary riff of the original. It's on my drive, so I could upload it if it's not too much of a bother.)

Sunday was beautiful and sunny so I walked around the city and ended up listening to the album "Jagged Little Pill" by Alanis Morissette.

I remember my sister had this one when I was a kid and also remember a lot of the cultural memes about it related to "Ironic" being mostly just unfortunate events. I havent listened to all of the songs or much of it as an adult.

The album is really good. It is an album with many songs describing the feeling of loss and anger at the end of a relationship, the sense of kinship to a younger person who hasn't had to learn these harsh truths yet (You Learn), and just the feeling of growing up through your 20s.

I am a 31 year old male but even though many might consider this album targeting a female audience I still felt it spoke to me about life, love, loss, and joy. I'd suggest giving it a listen if you ever want to have some feels.

Oh! And I split my hand open listening to Rage Against the Machine while boxing on the heavy bag.

I've been listening to a lot of synthwave and retrowave this past week. As a kid from the 80s the incredible nostalgia and maybe a a type of saudade this type of music gives me is continues to surprise me. I listen to music to feel and this hits home more than most other genres to me (maybe except metal). It's really hard to describe but maybe others can? The way the beat is often kinda reversed and you get sucked into it and just classic 80s keyboard sounds pleases me to no end.
It's also great background music and a type of music I can listen to for a very long time before getting tired of it. Soothing might be a good word to describe it.

    Here's 3 examples.

    Chill

Taking the Commodore 64 out for a spin

Just listen to that fucking beat drop

While I actually think these two genres fit quite well together I've struggled to find something I really like in that mix. Dance with the Dead are pretty cool but I fail to see the metal influence in Dan Terminus? Do you know any combination with more Melodic Death/Black influences? It always seems to be the heavy metal influence that's present which of course makes sense since it fits the 80s feeling well.

I've been listening to a lot of things lately, ranging from indie to popular stuff.

Bruno Mars's "That's What I Like" is honestly one song I listen to every week or so because I just really like how it transitions to the bass at 0:44.

I still frequently listen to Moe Shop and Big Data, despite the fact they don't make a new release reasonably often, hell, took Big Data >2 years to make something new that wasn't a collab with another artist, and Moe Shop had remained inactive for a year until they released a new single.

Into the more niche area, I occasionally listen to vaporwave music from artists like .CASTING, PEGA, and bodyline, with my 3 favorites from those 3 being:

    shore (by bodyline)
    BORDEAU (by .CASTING)
    Reality (by PEGA)

88 Rising has a couple of good songs. Mostly I am a fan of Joji and Rich Brian.

My favorite bands Krewella, Oh Wonder (above), Modern Baseball, The Wonder Years, and Neck Deep have been on pretty heavy rotation too.

Last category I swear: For stuff I listen to when I am doing work: Hollow Knight OST, Diddy Kong Racing OST, Heavy Rain OST, and TMNT: Turtles in Time OST.

From it, I've been listening to a bit of Strauss:
