As odd a combo as this sounds, I actually saw Garbage, No Doubt and the Distillers together in Florida about 15 years ago. It was a great goddamn concert. Garbage definitely got outshined by No Doubt and the Distillers though but that's not really surprising since Downtempo Alt/Electronic Rock just can't compete with Ska and Punk in terms of live performance energy and excitement IMO.

Cool to see Garbage is putting out some new music though. Any word on a new album?

edit: Apparently they are expecting to release a new one in 2019 some time:

Garbage is a rare band with zero turnover and they still put out totally great tracks regularly. I've loved them since the 90s and they don't disappoint. Should probably see them live once in my life, but they're definitely in that phase where people who liked them in high school, like I did, now have more disposable income, so they charge quite a bit for their shows.

      Edit: typo.

Coheed and Cambria just released their new album that revisits the Amory Wars concept. It's speculated to take place some time after the events of No World for Tomorrow which until now has been thought to be the end of the story after Claudio succeeds in destroying the galaxy. The album starts off with The Dark Sentencer, and it's 8 minutes of fucking awesome.

I've been loving this album quite a bit. Coheed is at their best when they're doing the big epic rock songs, and this album has a few examples of that being done incredibly well.

I bought both albums by the band Sojourner last week after listening to them on Youtube for months. I'm not a genre expert, but their music seems like folk-y black metal to me. Despite not being very much into harsh vocals (growing/etc) I find it very relaxing to listen to and it's become my music that I read to. I think they first came up on Spotify for me. Here's a link to what I think is their most accessible song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azo1zBhv5tU . The part starting at about 3:00 is what sold me on it at first. I love that flowing sound.

Those are all good similar bands. I've gotten recommendations for all of them on Youtube. It is great work music, I agree.

The latest mewithoutYou album, [Untitled] has been on loop for a week. This album has the band going back to a harder sound, familiar with their earlier records, while still maintaining their evolved sound.

My favorite record of there's is still, Brother, Sister.

I might have some things, but I'm curious what connects those artists for you. Imo Noname, Tyler, and DOOM are all very very different from each other.

I definitely don't see that as odd at all. Minecraft has a really awesome instrumental ambient soundtrack.

I've been listening to Agent Fresco. They remind me at times of a more progressive metal The Darkness, or a more vocal Tesseract.

Although, I stumbled across an amazing Youtube video from 14 years ago. It's from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony for George Harrison being post-humously inducted, where they play "While my guitar gently weeps".

Got an awesome cast of Price (who does an amazing solo), Tom Petty, George's son Dhani, Steve Winwood, Marc Mann and Jeff Lynne.

I must have watched and listened to it a few dozen times, it's just an awesome performance!

I've been really into Guster's Live With the Redacted Symphony since I came across it a few days ago. It's a bunch of recordings from a show they did with the Colorado Symphony a few years back (that I sadly missed being back in CO for by less than a week!) that they released for free due to a dispute with the symphony's union. I had heard the recording of Come Downstairs and Say Hello (which, if you only listen to one track from this, it should be that) from a cellphone video from the crowd on YouTube that I had been dying to hear the rest of in better quality.

Guster is one of my favorite bands, and I love the combo of their take on a pop sound with a full orchestral accompaniment.

I stumbled across CL (Chaotic Lynk) on bandcamp and have been listening to that and have been trying to hunt down some of his other stuff outside of those two albums, which I can't seem to find anywhere. And I know there's more because I come across a song every few days. Aside from that Sacula by WilyWnka just release. Though that one is real hefty with sixteen tracks, and in Japanese, so I haven't dived in as easily.
