Been listening to the new Tauk album. They're an instrumental band that I can't really classify into a genre, but they are fun. https://tauk.bandcamp.com/album/shapeshifter-ii-outbreak

Haha, I love Ronald Jenkees! He released a new album recently after a bit of a hiatus, so that was fun

"I don't make promises I can't keep / so I don't make promises ever / so when I write letters to those ex-girlfriends / that's going to be the header"

Milo is the word smith that forges my over-educated angst into hot bars of ennui.

I tried purely instrumental jazz and classical music (recent compositions too, IDK if the term classical music includes them) for concentrating while studying. I actually like and listen to both genres, but I generally prefer to study in silence. Turns or that's what I should do, studying with music doesn't work for me because I get lost in the music instead of concentrating on anything... But if you can actually do it, the Piano Study playlist on Spotify has some very nice music in it.

Apart from that, I've listened to a bit from Turkish pop singer-songwriter Candan Erçetin (see here for a decent playlist), I especially like Elbette which is a song about how life has ups and downs but one should not drift into depression and instead remain hopeful and enjoy what they can while they can. Rare in Turkish pop because people tend to take life and love either way too seriously or too unseriously (if that's a word) here.

I'm also listening to Exodus by Bob Marley all the time. I love his music. And recently I listened to Joe Pass a bit, after quite some time. His version of Satin Doll is one of the best jazz guitar performances out there for me.

I haven't been listening to too much music lately (too distracted with podcasts), however I've been enjoying San Holo's debut album, album1 a bit. It's more instrumental and less electronic/future bassy than his earlier work, but I am enjoying it nonetheless. I'm having a hard time describing it overall; I suppose ethereal future bass would be the best descriptor. If you only want to check out one track, I would go with brighter days, featuring the fantastic vocalist Bipolar Sunshine.

the ever lovable The Boy Bands Have Won, an album by Chumbawamba (you may know them as the origin of Tubthumping, or the "I get knocked down..." song). aside from its distinction as the album with the longest name in the world, it's a pretty good album although because of the nature of Chumbawamba as a band most of the song on it have a political or social message.

The unknown inhuman Symphony #2 by Lepo Sumera. If you find it, give it a try in a dark quiet place. This music kinda comes in waves. Huge waves. You might be quite impressed.

This week I finally watched Baby Driver, a movie in which music has a strong part in the overall plot. The soundtrack is fantastic and I can't stop listen it.

I've been listening to Welcome to Night Vale recently, and the weather segment in each episode plays a different song, all of which have been at least pretty good so far. This one was particularly enjoyable. It's cool because it's all really small artists that I've never heard of before, but they're all really good.

I'm a fan of minimalist music, and I can get that very isolating yet fulfilling sensation.

I re-watched this year's Eurovision grand final last night. That's something normal people do, right? Moldova is still my favourite.
